2008: Quick Strikes Propel Longhairs to 42-21 Win!
First Victory Since '03 Comes the Old-Fashioned Longhair Way - The One-Play Drive.
It's seems like forever since we've seen the Longhairs in such form. Six touchdowns, every one half the length of the field or longer. The shorthairs had the ball twice as long, but the Longhair bend, don't break D repeatedly came up with clutch stops or INTs in or near the end zone. And when the Shorthair West Coast offense did churn out a score, the Longhairs always answered with another one-play drive. Even a Shorthair TD on a hurry-up drive was answered by another long score.

The game was closer than the score, with the Longhairs going into halftime with only a one TD lead. But the Shorthairs started the fourth quarter by throwing an INT in the end zone. Just a couple of plays later, Joel (first year as a Longhair), made a spectacular catch for another Longhair TD, and the coffin was nailed shut.

Johno, though illin', had his best game in years, throwing for a TD and catching two more. And even though the hidden ball trick only gained an extra 10 yards, it was a sign that the Longhairs were back. They even scored on the last play of the game just to put an exclamation point on it. (Here's a link to the whole game.)
