  2. (2) "Well, Tom Sawyer, he licked me once." (p 118) Why did this person say this? Why was no one impressed?
  3. (3) "Any boy in the whole town but that St. Louis smarty that thinks he dresses so fine and is aristocracy." (p128 ) Who is talking? Whom is he/she talking about? Where have we seen this "smarty" before?
  4. (3) "Go away and leave me alone, can't you! I hate you!" (p128) Who's talking?  What's going on? What does the person this is said to do because of this?
  5. (2) "I could forgive the boy now if he'd committed a million sins." (last line of Chapter 19) Who? What?
