Writing (Or work on Letter to Tom). Date this today if you want it to count for today, date it tomorrow (11/21) if you want it to count for next week.
  1. What if people routinely live to be 150-200 years old? Speculate on the good and bad effects. Convince us it would be a good or bad thing.
  2. What if the Earth were suddenly plunged into darkness, 24 hours a day? Describe some of the changes that would result, and show the effects on everyday life.
  3. "Be a Thing" story: A drop of water, a $20 bill, a quarter, a pen that keeps getting borrowed or lost, etc. Write from the point of view of the thing. Show how the world looks, feels, sounds from its point of view.
  4. "Be careful what you wish for; it just might come true." Show the down-side(s) of getting your wish.
  5. Design an experiment that attempts to determine whether frogs can hear. Explain your reasons for setting up the experiment the way you did. Try to make it simple and easy to understand.  (Or make it funny.)
  6. Make a list of 50 ways to make money. Make it serious. Make it funny.
  7. The title of the story is "The Policeman and the Duck."
  8. What if it really rained cats and dogs? What if your heart really broke? Or...
  9. If you could travel to any period in history (or the future), where/when would you go? Show what you think life would be like.
  10. Which PE activities have been the best? Why? Worst? Why? Give suggestions for improving the PE program.
  11. Top Ten (or 20 or 30) List: Pet Peeves. Explain why, and offer alternatives or fixes.
  12. Picture yourself at the age of 22. (You will probably graduate from high school at about 18.) What are you doing? Where are you living? Show your life. (Try several different versions: ideal, scary, funny, outrageous, worst case, etc.)
