Warm Up. Copy 1-3. Descramble 7 and 8 into clear, smooth-sounding sentences with proper mechanics. There are several ways to arrange them.

Rubricize!
  1. Read the essay. Give it a score from 1-30. 27+ = A, 24+ = B, 21+ = C, 18+ = D.
  2. Now look at the rubric, and compare it to the essay. Award a score (1-5) for each part of the rubric. Be sure to look for evidence!
  3. Add up the rubric numbers. The sum should be within a point or two of the first score (/30) you gave.
