III. 15 Minutes Writing Time. Use Word. Save as .rtf in a folder called 600 in your space on the server. When time is up, use "Tools --> Word Count" to see how many words you wrote, and type that at the end of the writing. TYPE THE DATE!
You need to turn in essays in  3 different styles by the end of the year.

Suggested Topics:
  1. (P) What if people routinely live to be 150-200 years old? Convince us it would be good or bad.
  2. (R) If your dog (cat) could talk, what would it say about you and your family? Show an important incident from your pet's POV. (Remember the 5 W's and the 5 senses.)
  3. (T) How to.. -choose the best… -impress your teacher… -fix… -improve your grades…-do…  - make…  (Make it entertaining! Make it educational!)
  4. (L) Compare and contrast characters from two of the stories we have read this year. Example: How are Huck and Dally similar? What can we learn from their experiences?
  5. (T/P) Invent a new class to be offered here at Laguna...Convince the administration that it would be a good addition.
  6. (E) Reviews: Best/worst burgers, cds, movies, video games, software, websites, etc. (Describe, evaluate, give reasons/suggestions.)
  7. (P/E) Sports Predictions and Evaluations: Who's going all the way? Which power forward should the Lakers get?  Best running backs in football? Most overrated? What makes you think so?
  8. (P/E) What is the best word, and why? Show all the ways to use it. (Keep it clean!)
  9. (P-S) How can we deal with the trash problem here at Laguna? Show at least two possible solutions.
  10. (R) Recount the most exciting/scary/important event you have ever witnessed. Make us feel like we're there (5 W's/5 Senses).
  11. (P-S) Show an issue/problem that you feel we have here at Laguna, and offer your solutions (2+) to it, and reasons why your solutions would work.
