WebQuests!
One effective way to set up a web quest is with
Trackstar
(http://trackstar.4teachers.org/trackstar/index.jsp)
Here's a demo of one I have used for studying Langston
Hughes and the Harlem Renaissance.
Tips:
-
Surf for the sites first, before beginning to create the
track. Open them all in separate windows, so it's easy to copy and paste
the urls into the track.
-
Make the annotations/questions very specific.
-
You can also insert online quizzes using school.discovery.com.
That way they can grade themselves, and print the results page
