  • (P) Having their images placed on postage stamps has honored many famous people, both real and fictional. Choose a real or fictional person who you feel deserves this honor.  Write a paper that would persuade others your choice is good.
  • (B) Describe the person who has had the greatest impact on your life (either positive or negative). Show how/why.
  • (T) Write a speech called "How to Laugh." First define what laughter is. Then compare and contrast different kinds of laughs (chuckle, guffaw, snicker, titter, giggle) and describe/show each.
  • (R) "The people in my neighborhood are so weird..." (or normal, or scary, or friendly, or...)
  • (R or E) Middle School isn't as bad as I thought... but here's what would make it better.
  • (T) Tips for surviving middle school.
  • (T) Make a slang dictionary. Make it funny. Write an introduction to it and a guide for usage. Be sure to include POS and examples of context.
  • (R) Show the same incident from two or three different points of view: a car wreck, a fight in a restaurant, a person being wrongly accused by the teacher, etc.
  • (L) Continue The Monsters are due on Maple Street. Write it in the form of a play, and show what happens the next day. Do they realize what happened? Do they report it? Are the aliens successful?

  • (P) What items would you place in a time-capsule, which would be buried here at Laguna, and unearthed in the year 2065? Why would you choose those items?
