Mental Floss.

  1. An infinite number of mathematicians are standing behind a bar. The first asks the barman for half a pint of root beer, the second for a quarter pint, the third an eighth, and so on. How many pints of root beer will the barman need to fulfill all mathematicians' wishes?

  5. If a farmer has 5 haystacks in one field and 4 haystacks in the other field, how many haystacks would he have if he combined them all in the middle field?
