Bottled Water Part II - The Other Side.
"Bottled Water Matters." Write on a new page in your notebook.
Keep all BW stuff in your notebook until I say to tear out and turn in.
1) What do you notice about this website? What is each PICTURE trying to say? What about the title? The url?
2) Now look at the sheet. What do you notice at first glance?
3) Divvy into 7 groups. Each group reads the assigned paragraph and answers the following questions (in writing):
- Who wrote this? What do we know about the author or writers.
- Does the writer (or writers) seem trustworthy? Why?
- What is the claim about bottled water?
- Is the writing serious or funny? Why?
- Does the writing make you have any sort of emotional reaction to it? Why?
3) Reread your assigned paragraph. Find one claim that you find
particularly believable and one that you find hard to believe. Make a
mini-chart.Quote the claims.
