The Stolen Bicycle Analogy

Let's pretend that your great-great-grandfather stole a bike from my great-great-grandfather. That bike was handed down through your family from your great-great-grandfather to your great-grandfather to your grandfather to your father to you. It now has been in your family for generations. Your son wants it for himself.

I have been doing some research, and it just so happens that I have traced this bicycle, and found you. I show up on your doorstep demanding "my" bicycle. My family wants it back.
Should you have to give it back? Give reasons for your answer.

What if the bicycle were a farm? A house? Would/should it make a difference?

Should there be any sort of "repayment" to the families of those people who were slaves? Should there be some sort of "payback"?
