It's also not fair to those students who did their work the first time. Throughout the year, students have been given ample opportunities to improve their grades. Extra credit opportunities included doing vocabulary sentences, writing more than 600 words/week, and practicing spelling words. All warm ups and pretests are also extra credit chances. Most regular assignments also had some sort of grace period for partial credit.

In other words, with about four weeks of school left, your grade is what it is, as they say. We have a research project, perhaps one more novel, and a few smaller assignments left, but as you probably now realize, there aren't many chances for redemption. My suggestion is to focus your efforts on those things that are left (like research), and to learn from this experience, so it is not repeated next year.
