Research Project -- Final Draft due date: June 2.
Paper Specifications:
  • Title Page:  title, date turned in, name, period
  • Table of Contents.
  • Introduction with thesis statement/controlling question.
  • Five to six pages of text (size 12-14 for text, Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing, .5" margins)
  • Illustrations, photos, charts, graphs as appropriate (4).
  • Conclusion page will answer your controlling question.
  • At least Five sources of at least Three different kinds
    • Extra Credit for use of at least one PRIMARY source.
  • In-text citation (see sample)
  • "Works Cited" page (see sample)
Notes. See the examples below:
· Write each of your major questions (sections of your paper; I, II, III, etc.) on separate pages (cards). Take notes in answer to each on the appropriate pages. Look below for what your notes should look like.  Include "juicy" quotes selectively and always be able to cite the source.
· Always write your bibliographic information down first; you can always cross that source off later.
· Number your list of sources and number the corresponding notes so you always know from what source your information came. Make sure you write the page numbers and source as you take notes!!!

In-Text Citation: (first thing in works cited entry [no comma] page [if available])
Whenever you use facts you got from someone else, you must cite them. That is, give credit  for where you found the information. This doesn't just apply to direct quotes, it applies to any information you get from your sources. Examples:
