Clauses:

  • A CLAUSE is a group of words that contain a subject and a verb.
  • An INDEPENDENT CLAUSE can stand alone as sentence.  (IND)
  • A DEPENDENT CLAUSE cannot stand alone as a sentence.  (DEP)
