Outsiders. Use your Chromebook and go to middleschool.mrcoward.com. Scroll down to Monday, 10/15  and follow the directions below:

  • Finish ch. 9 silently.
  • Grab a Chromebook and go to blogger.com, open your blog, and start a new post on your blog.
  • Choose one of the quotes below, copy and paste it into your post, and respond with at least a paragraph. Use at least one example from the book to back up whatever you say. Give your post an appropriate and creative title.
    • Dally: “You’d better wise up, Pony… you get tough like me and you don’t get hurt.  You look out for yourself and nothin’ can touch you…”  (pssst: irony.)
    • Johnny: “Stay gold.”
    • BONUS: Connect the two quotes!
  • When you are finished with chapter 10, go to blogger.com, open your blog, and start a new post on your blog.
  • Come to my desk and choose one question, and answer it using at least one example from the book. You don’t have to write the question, but your answer should make the question obvious. Your response should be at least a paragraph long. Give your post an appropriate and creative title.
    • Was Dally gallant?  Why/not? OR
    • Why does Dally’s death seem sadder than Johnny’s?
  • Go get a Chapter 10 Quiz (yellow) from the stack. Do not write on the sheet! In your notebook, write the answer and the first four words of the answer.  Open Book! Return the sheet to the pile.
  • FINISHED with all that? BONUS:  Use your mad internet searching powers to find out who the “Jimmy” is that the book is dedicated to. Added Bonus if you can find an SE Hinton quote to prove it. Write the answers in your notebook under the title, “Outsiders Dedication.”
