“S/CD/CX, 10/2.” Follow the steps below.

  1. Write a Simple (S) sentence at least 6 words long with a prepositional phrase.
  2. Label it (S).
  3. Write another Simple (S) sentence somehow related to the first.
  4. Label it (S).
  5. Combine them into a CompounD (CD) sentence.
  6. Label it (CD).
  7. Recombine them into a CompleX (CX) sentence.
  8. Label it (CX).

  2. Open your notebook, and title it, “Outsiders, Ch. 9.”
  3. Choose ONE of the quotes below, copy it, and respond with a couple of sentences. What’s going on? What does the person mean? Why is this important?

  4. Go get a Chapter 9 Quiz from the stack (PINK). IN YOUR NOTEBOOK, under the title “Chapter 9 Quiz,” write the ANSWER, not the letter to each question. DO NOT WRITE ON THE HANDOUT! 
    •  Chapter 9 questions should be finished by EOP Thursday. Otherwise finish at home Thursday night.
  5. Return Pink Handout to the stack.
  6. Continue reading Chapter 10 up to the BOTTOM OF PAGE 155.
  7. Go see Mr. Coward for the Chapter 10 question. Return to your desk and thoughtfully answer the question in your notebook under the title: “Why? 10/2”
  8. If there is still time, work on your essay or SMYKs.
